Nicholas graduated Summa Cum Laude from Illinois State University in 2008 with a degree in Accounting and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Valparaiso University Law School as a published member of the Valparaiso Law Review. In 2011, Cronauer completed a legal research externship for the Chief Federal District Court Judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana in South Bend, Indiana. In 2010 Cronauer also completed a legal research externship for a Superior Court Judge, in Civil Division I, Lake County, Indiana and a legal research externship in 2009 for a Magistrate in Porter County, Indiana.
